Case study 50
Testimonial from Alison & Steve Adams
Pilate studio with storage room clad in Siberian Larch
We were delighted to present Alison and Steve with a personalised bottle of celebratory Champagne and the keys to their new Robertson Garden Room.
East Hanningfield, Essex
Size: 6m x 4m
What was your biggest concern before hiring me? Did it come true, and if not, what happened instead?
I didn't have any concerns before Jason and Aiden started work, this room had been in the planning for so long, communication with Jason was always easy. I was confident he could deliver my plan.
What is your favourite feature of the studio and what was the best part about the service you were provided?
I like the space within the room, but it's the things you can't see that really keep the space tidy. The concealed hole behind the TV to allow computer connection being one of the favourites, along with the ceiling speakers. I also love the external down lighters which gives a lovely soft light outside the room during the evening
What difference has the studio made to your life and/or family?
The studio is used most days either for Pilates classes, and practice, relaxation evenings or family space, the air-conditioning unit was greatly appreciated during the hot summer by everyone. The room has given us back our lounge in the house.
If you were to recommend us to your best friend, what would you say?
Jason and Aiden work to an extremely high standard, not only the things you can see but the structure and insulation is also great. We think the studio is built so well it will last longer than the house!
Congratulations
As a successful Pilates instructor, Alison wanted to be able to deliver classes in her own contemporary Pilates studio. The garden at the front of her property offered the ideal space, however, after seeking advice from the local authority it was discovered that this required planning permission as her property is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. One of the stipulations was that it had to have a pitched roof to help blend into the surroundings. We supplied scaled drawings of the proposed build and the application was accepted. She chose beautiful Siberian Larch cladding which looks really smart with the charcoal bifold doors and eye level windows. The studio is fully insulated for use all year round and for optimum temperature control, and to ensure the comfort of her clients, we installed underfloor heating and a fully adjustable air conditioning/heating unit. At the back of the studio there is a handy storeroom for equipment. We fitted the mirrors, TV, ceiling speakers, all electrics, internal and external lighting, and the studio was plastered, painted and ready to use. We love the plaque featuring the name of the studio - Lingwood Lodge.
